Back in April during the season of Lent, our whole school communicty assembled over 300 bag lunches and 300 personal care item bags for our sister parish, St. Vincent DePaul in the city of St. Louis. St. Vincents was able to pass out these bags to the homeless through their walk up window. After making over 600 bags for the homeless, we still had a large amount of money leftover to use for further service opportunities.
For our last day of school, our 6th and 7th graders assembiled over 700 sandwiches and 300 lunch bags to be delivered to St. Vincent DePaul for the Memorial Day weekend. We look forward to getting our students to be active participants in the St. Catherine Laboure Parish service projects next year, especially helping out our sister parish St. Vincent DePaul.
As a Vincentian parish school, we live out our parish mission inspired by the Charism of St. Vincent De Paul to be people for the poor in an active and practical manner. With St. Catherine Laboure as our patroness, we commit to a dedicated love of Mary, the mother of Jesus.
St. Catherine Laboure, pray for Us!
Blessings,
Mrs. Horan and Mrs. Patke
