Altar Servers for Holy Mass

Have you attended weekend Mass with your family here at St. Catherine’s and noticed who leads the way into our worship of Our Lord?

It’s an altar server – a youth just like you, in 5th Grade or older – who carries the processional Crucifix down the main aisle while the congregation sings.

Our servers assist the priest inside Mass by bringing him the prayer Missal, helping accept the Offertory gifts, and helping prepare the altar for the Eucharistic feast.

Training is necessary for you to participate in this ministry, organized by our parish clergy and office staff. Once trained, servers are scheduled to serve weekend Mass approximately once every three weeks. Servers also often assist at weekday Masses with all of SCL School present.
