At SCL your child’s safety and wellness are our number one priority! In order to keep our child(ren) healthy, we adhere to the following Archdiocesan guidelines:
A child with a temperature of 100.4 or greater will be sent home and will not be allowed to return to school until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.
A child that is vomiting or has diarrhea will be sent home and they will not be allowed to return until they have been symptom free for 24 hours.
A child with a confirmed case of lice, as per SCL policy, may not return to school until they are nit free.
If a child requires OTC (over the counter) medication during the school day, the child must have written authorization from the pediatrician and the parent to receive medication at school. If a child needs medication over the course of a few school days, such as ibuprofen or tylenol (i.e. broken bones), parents must supply the medication in the original bottle.
Forms required for new and returning students:
All NEW STUDENTS are required to turn in a physical form from their pediatrician that is less than a year old, and an updated record of their immunizations. Students in Kindergarten, 3rd and 6th grade are required to turn in an updated immunization record. Every student is required to turn in an updated P.E. form annually.
Please don’t hesitate to contact the nurse with any questions or concerns regarding the health and well-being of your child.
