Here is the information about Got Sneakers that was previously shared in Newsletter:
The mission of Got Sneakers is to partner with the sneaker community to recycle and reuse quality pre-loved sneakers. In May, we will hold a sneaker drive fundraiser to keep sneakers out of landfills and reduce toxic chemicals from being released in our air and soil.
The company says that all reusable sneakers from our sneaker drive fundraiser program will be recirculated to secondhand markets so people can access quality, pre-owned footwear at affordable prices. All heavily used and damaged footwear is recycled to reuse materials or to convert waste into new energy.
The program is considered a “fund-raiser” because we will be receiving money for the sneakers that are in excellent, good, or fair condition. This money will be used to purchase food to continue with our Sack Lunch program sponsored by our sister Parish, St. Vincent de Paul in downtown St. Louis.
We finally received the necessary information and collection bags so we are now in a position to begin accepting donations of “pre-loved” sneakers. Parents are invited to send in the sneakers beginning tomorrow and through Field Day.
