Dear SCL Families,
After all the masses this past weekend, Mr. Kevin Prior, Chairperson of the SCL Finance and Budgetary Committee, gave an update on the parish finances. He spoke about how the debt from the capital campaign 15 years ago has recently been paid off; however, now the building and equipment has entered the maintenance and replacement phase. He also spoke about our “first-rate school and strong enrollment” and how the parish will continue to support the school and faculty moving forward into the future. In his announcement, he stated that ⅓ of the weekly offertory collection is used to support the school. Please note that the school budget is not covered by your tuition alone, and to remain viable each year we rely on a parish subsidy. We are extremely grateful to the parish for supporting us through COVID and keeping our doors open with the most up-to-date technology available!
The school subsidy fund is a restricted fund established to benefit the school directly through your tax-deductible donations while indirectly helping the parish by lowering the amount needed to annually subsidize the school. This helps to keep tuition more affordable.
